UCI Esports is always looking out for new talent to join our scholarship teams for League of Legends and Overwatch (PC)! If you are interested, here’s some basic information to help make this process easier.

Requirements

  • Must be a current or incoming full-time student at UCI
  • Must have peaked at least Grandmaster (League of Legends) or Radiant (Valorant). We are not currently recruiting for Overwatch 2.

Application Process (PC)

  • Fill out our Recruitment Interest form if you are an incoming or prospective student to help us track your UC application/status
  • Eligible applicants will be invited to try out as we prepare rosters for the new year
    • Please note that we may not respond to every applicant
    • If you have any questions, feel free to email us
  • Priority applicants will have a chance to visit the campus and facility, meet current team members, coaches, and program staff
  • Priority applicants may receive a pre-tryout for coaches to understand their play style, communication skills, and game sense
  • Tryout applications will be released on our website and social media for current students and eligible incoming students
  • Tryouts will be held during or shortly before the school year, depending on the season’s schedule
  • A final roster will be finalized before the season begins

Scholarship Details & FAQ

  • We currently have two varsity teams: League of Legends and Overwatch
  • Scholarships are up to $6000 for varsity teams and up to $3000 for junior varsity teams
  • Teams have full support staff including coaches, managers, an exercise physiologist, a team psychologist, and a player support coordinator
