This week UCI eSports signed a partnership agreement with Oomba, the Irvine-based network that caters to gaming fans by providing quality content and eSports channels. With Oomba on board, UCI students will have a platform for creating, publishing and broadcasting their content to be viewed worldwide.
“We are very proud to support this amazing initiative at UCI. eSports are here to stay and UCI is destined to be a trailblazer. We expect to see the Anteaters at the top of every leaderboard!”– Michael Williams, CEO of Oomba
eSports is known for competitive matches and everyone loves to see a good match. The highest levels of competition always gather large audiences and engage the broader community.
Oomba is also providing big screen televisions for the eSports arena walls. The screens will display tournaments, leaderboards, highlights, student broadcasters and arena activities keeping students informed about all things eSports-related at UCI.
“UCI eSports is excited to announce Oomba as a new sponsor of the program. With our newly-named Oomba.TV station, UCI’s streamers and broadcasters will be able to share premium original eSports and game-related content with the world.”– Mark Deppe, Acting Director of UCI eSports
